sheesh.. my parents got me a 'i love singapore' shirt from hang ten and on one hand it's corny but on the other, it would be cool to declare my love for the nation, instead of um, complaining about the lack of fun, the competitiveness, the heat, how expensive the ipod is. oh but that's another matter altogether.
anyway my CO was just saying today, very enthusiastically, that the training will be taken up a notch after we're done with the army open house (my friend's doing a safari thing-- public goes around in jeeps gawking at poor army boys doing stuff, probably the leopard crawl) and the half marathon (last week's 10k was enough. can't imagine 21). funny how most people approaching ORD get slacker and slacker while over in my unit, things get worse and worse.
so last week i watched the village, one of those shows that illicit extrene reactions from people eg. nabe cheebai! that was friggin $7.50!
i thought it was good storytelling though.
i also read life of pi. at first it was boring then it got interesting again. i also learnt how to play accidentally in love on the guitar but it still sounds awful. and then i found out that my viewing of the oc is finally ahead of singapore's schedule! and since i just watched another four, i'm now four weeks ahead! right. the part where luke got on with julie was like uh yeeeww, in summer-speak. and i watched in the mood for love and i join the legion of wong kar wai-tony leung worshippers.
cheers to a good long weekend.
