Cuz we're living in a material world...

I can't find anyone who would want to go to the madonna concert in June. Understably, not many people are big enough a fan to fork out at least 70 bucks to go. I was never a big fan of madonna until I saw her on live8, where she single handedly made 20000 people clap in unison. No one else even comes close. I am now prepared to go alone because 1) she's the biggest star of the past 20 years 2) she doesn't tour often 3) it's madison square garden 4) i want to see her perform sorry's roller disco routine 5) the staging is going to be spectacular. It's going to be costly though, and I'll have to skip one/two days of summer school probably. But considering that one day of summer school is one week of normal school, that may not be so advisable. Scratch that, I'm gonna go no matter what if I can get the ticket before they sell out in 15 mins.

I will never understand people who get obsessed with grades, who would drop a class after getting a 70 for the first prelim, who take classes because they're easy to score, who updates their grade expectations after every single test or quiz, who gets worried about what percentage the homework is going to be, who needs to know what other people got for their work.

I pray that I do not turn into these people

Today was a bad day. I went to brush my teeth in the morning and when I returned to my room, my room mate had locked the door and gone out. I didn't know what to do. The RAs' doors were closed, I asked someone to call my roommate but that didn't work, so I went to sleep in the morgue downstairs. Missed today's classes and only managed to get back to my room at 1. I decided that I will bring my keys with me all the time from now on.

The latest thing that has gotten my goat is tilt shift photography, which takes surreal everyday shots and make them look like miniatures with the use of special lens. For example, the work of olivo barbieri:



And guess what, someone found a way to create the same effect using photoshop. What a genius. Lots more examples here.
I'm going to try it soon.
