i've finally gotten the hang of turning left and all the gear changing now seems natural to me. mister pang who is my usual instructor, says i should be taking three lessons a week. he's quite nice, cuz he gives me sweets to eat (cheap thrill), but he always puts on extra brake for me so i can't really judge how much braking i'm doing for myself. a few more lessons and i must get to doing the final theory evaluation.
have you ever wondered why it's always overcast on sundays.
the star of today's news has got to be the japanese lady who got abducted by the eviiil north koreans. she recently reunited with her homeland but her husband was a us army deserter so he couldn't follow. you've got to hand it to her for her poetry man.
clear blue autmn skies. going through the skies will take me back to my beloved family. if i had wings or if i were a bird, i could fly and bring them right back with me.
alright i'm sure it sounds better in japanese.
time's review of wong kar-wai's 2046 is simply tantalising. i'm really into the film's colours. it's really cool to be a cinematographer.. when i watch films nowadays all i watch out for is the camera angles, the colours awashing the film, the director's technique, the different effects lighting can achieve, besides the acting. but all i wanna do now is to film a music video.

hey... even though the sale is on, i'm not parting with any money just yet. cannot indulge in impulsive buys anymore. i figured out the reason why i'm so short of money is that i just put $300 in my driving account, bought 3 cds and a book, and went for many nights off, which explains why this..
this was the week i watched 3 movies in 4 days. one disaster flick, one cartoon and one of the best shows this year. you can roughly guess what. eternal sunshine of the spotless mind did not disappoint. i think it's got a lot of lovely snow-on-the-beach scenes and the lines are really funny. it's better than adaptation cuz maybe it's got kirsten dunst and it's more romantic. kate winslet was really good too.
i think i've made up my mind to buy the ipod mini.
i'm reading eragon, about a guy named eragon who finds a dragon egg out of nowhere.
i also ordered about 7 pirated dvds from malaysia.

this week's the ai3 finale. i'm betting on fantasia.
yesterday i actually missed the debut of nip/tuck.
please do not let me miss the mummy returns.
to get:
duck pate
macaroni & cheese
smoked salmon
terra potato chips
i've got 8 new cds to listen to today. there's damien rice's o, my morning jacket's it still moves (dancefloors!), franz ferdinand, nirvana's nevermind, in utero and unplugged in ny, kelvin tan and faith no more. i still don't know who's faith no more. their music's like the wwf soundtrack.
the only thing worse from watching b grade horror flick 'the after food of gods' tonight was to realise halfway that damn, i've watched it before.
interesting fact learned from the art museum: there are many varieties of carrots in the world. i like the healthmaster carrot. it knocks the weeds out of the ballpark.

what a terrible terrible week i had. i'm the lowest lifeform in the army. it's one more year to ord and i'm losing it already.
while chuck palahniuk's lullaby made a lot of sense and was a lovely read, choke was a lot of sex and i don't know what to make of it. i think the story goes no where.
there's a film called equilibrium released two or three years back that is supposedly the matrix's twin. it's set in a future dystopia and has machines and gunkata fighting. do you know that dystopia isn't found in the dictionary? the critics don't find it very good but it's a cult favorite, so if you see it anywhere grab it. and it has christian bale.
i've been downloading a lot of buena vista social club and club music. i have the deep house and the global underground stuff and all the familiar names like dave seaman and deep dish and hernan cattaneo are here and all i'm missing now are the disco lights and a mirror ball. and the beautiful people.

blogger has a new format that makes it look i'm typing an email but i'd rather prefer the old one, cuz at least i can see my previous stuff easily.
troy is excellent and i thought eric bana did a superb job. but seriously, i've had enough of seeing impossibly huge armies sweeping across an empty battlefield. it's a really dumb way to conduct a war. and can you imagine yourself looking like brad pitt when you're like fuckin forty years old? hell no. and the affinity orlando bloom has for bow and arrows? "boring" isn't the right word, but it's the first to come to mind. anyway, shrek2 opens next week! evil.
today was one of those sats where i came back home and went out again immediately. servicing vehicles is no joke! everything has to be taken apart and put back again. we spent two days doing one vehicle. i feel bad for all the technicians in the world. i got so much oil and grease in my nails that i had to cut them before i went out. which was why i was even later for my karaoke session. jack was phenomenal (gab told me to blog this). you really have to go club man. you'd love the podium.
i finally bought kiss and tell, the guide to satc. one big reason to buy is that it contains samantha's quotes. like "i'm a trisexual. i like to try everything at least once.", or on whether she swallows: "only when surprised." what gems!
i found out that a lot of people have visited the k10000 site. yaohong went there when it was still k1000. so did dillion's sister.
i burnt my nirvana concert on a cdr and it actually plays on my telly. but it only works with windows media, so i can't burn dvd-playable divx movies. in other news, i passed my range! i hope that;s the second year..
i wanted to go buy some stuff - insulators and groceries, tomorrow but then i realised my driving is in the afternoon. muuust top up the account tomorrow. there goes my shopping budget for this month. i'll watch twilight samurai in the morning if i can wake up.

haha how wonderful everyone's interested in donnie darko now. i just burnt all my mp3s and pictures into cd so that the computer can be reformated. but i forgot about the 2 irritating city of god avis which are too big to fit into one cd together. so i gotta burn two cds with lotsa extra space available. and city of god is full of senseless violence. they just go around with guns and shoot each other.
nothing interesting lately. top 3 laughs of the week:
3. replacing 'garfield' with 'lawrence' in an FIRST article about the upcoming movie garfield. (ie. lawrence is the original fat cat. lawrence is lazy,... and likes to fart.)
2. kelvin lor changing lane and heading left when told to 'go straight!'
1. walking round the curtain in a stupid circle at IMT.
it's mother's day and i really don't know how best to celebrate it.

i can't believe cheng yi is on friendster and he messaged me.. i didn't get to read it though, the system hung up on me in camp.
on the bad side, i stayed back in camp on friday to do cos while the rest booked out to support the armour road relay.. on the good side, i read juice and discovered about bootleg sneakers in peninsular plaza. i read grain and discovered that a guy made a pinhole camera out of a peking duck. i read 8 days- it was really boring. i booked yet another driving lesson for tomorrow.
oh ok i didn't even know about the jogathon. they're sending mail to my old email address still.
the tickets- tell me when you're gonna get them ok
no more money for lawry's: i blew away about 700 bucks in 5 days last week. 100+ for dfs, 100+ for jeans, 300 for driving and drew a few 50 dollar notes.
the bends is erm, classic. i've had most of it on mp3 so there were no surprises there.
time magazine's cover article about big mega buildings in china. i've thought all along that they were very ugly. monuments are like souffles, looks solid, but more likely filled with air. have you seen the ads for thre3 thre3 robin road? that is one tasteful condo to live in. i wanna watch elephant.
i've finally taken over my own vehicle and i only have one day (next mon) to prep it before moving out next tues. that means doing the track tension, which is the biggest bitch of all, checking the oil levels, taking over the many many stores, ie concertina wire, bamboo poles, camo net etc, loading up the stores, shifting the cupboards and revising on the stupid drills.
i have by now watched fight club about four times and able to recite tyler durden's lines. of course, half the bunk caught onto the whole 'you are not your clothes, not your cars, you are not your fucking khakis, we are the all singing all dancing crap of the world' theology too. more bad news: i need to run 20 seconds faster to pass soc.
ok where is xinyi? she told me to keep today free and i haven't heard a single word from her except a missed call..
one fine day i'm going to reformat this computer and install windows xp. i'm losing it every minute of the day.
oh my brother may be going to japan for an exchange programme and i must think of what funky shinjuku thing to buy!!
