donnie darko is a film which begs for repeated watchings. i shall not even describe the plot here. it involves time travel, tangent universes, the existence of god, teenage angst and a scary big rabbit. suffice to say, it is the most thought provoking film i watched in months. sadly it cost 4 million to make but grossed only $500,000. and if you watch it, pay attention, or you might miss something.
